Edenya at Pairi Daiza, in Brugelette, Belgium, is the world’s largest covered zoological ecosystem and tropical greenhouse, combining luxury accommodations with highly sensitive animal habitats. The project required a reliable and intelligent infrastructure capable of supporting both exceptional guest experiences and the operation of critical systems such as climate control, ventilation, lighting, and data networks. Having successfully implemented Legrand GRMS solutions in previous hotel developments across the resort, Pairi Daiza already knew the performance, reliability, and ease of use of the system. Building on this positive experience and a long-standing collaboration with installation partner Collignon, the owner chose to continue with Legrand for the Edenya expansion.
To support the 88 unique accommodations within Edenya, Legrand deployed a fully integrated Guest Room Management System (GRMS) as part of a 360° electrical and digital architecture spanning the entire energy chain, from power distribution to intelligent room control. At the core of the solution is Legrand’s GRMS automation platform, integrated via the BACnet protocol for seamless communication with building management systems. The GRMS enables intuitive control of lighting, temperature, blinds, and room scenarios, delivering a personalized guest experience while streamlining hotel operations. Occupancy-based automation, driven by motion detectors, dynamically adapts room settings to real-time presence. Energy is therefore used only when needed, combining comfort with optimized efficiency. Across the wider site, Legrand implemented a robust and scalable infrastructure including main low voltage switchboards, power cabinets, Zucchini busbar systems, cable trunking, and structured data networks. This ensures continuous power availability, operational safety, and resilience throughout the ecosystem. From canopy cabins to underwater suites, each accommodation benefits from seamless integration between comfort, control, and environmental sensitivity. BTicino Living Light wiring devices and decentralized control systems further enhance ease of use while maintaining high-performance management in the background. Delivered in close collaboration with Collignon, Legrand’s unified infrastructure brings together electrical distribution, digital intelligence, and guest experience into a single coherent platform supporting both operational excellence and immersive hospitality.
