NEMA (National Electrical Manufacturers Association) recently renovated its conference facility and office areas in Washington, D.C. The goal was to remodel the association’s 6,000 square foot conference center and provide two main conference rooms with the ability to partition each into two smaller conference rooms. Advanced automation and audio video equipment technology needed to automatically adapt to the multiple conference room configurations with a simple interface for presenters coming from all over the United States and the world. Each room provides integrated audio/visual systems, wireless internet and teleconferencing capability and a 90” LED screen. Legrand businesses including Vantage, WattStopper, Wiremold and Pass & Seymour delivered wiring devices, lighting control, audio/video conferencing and integration with MechoShade, the project includes Equinox touchscreens and iPad app as interfaces. The project was designed and commissioned by Vantage.
Vantage provided an InFusion based control solution utilizing Equinox interfaces, sensors for lighting, as well as audio/video and shade integration. All keypad stations and wiring devices (provided by Legrand) were aesthetically matched. The renovation aspect of this project in conjunction with a tight time scale to completion was particularly challenging. Vantage’s Design Services team provided system design, project management and programming support.
Guests at at the NEMA conference center are greeted with a significantly enhanced experience since the completion of the renovation. The 6,000 square foot conference center features a modern meeting space that can accommodate large groups or be subdivided for smaller ones. Each room provides integrated audio/visual systems, wireless internet and teleconferencing capability and a 90” LED screen. The conference rooms now include an advanced presentation and multimedia system with lighting, A/V and shade control available at the touch of a button, as well as an easily visible continuous weather feed.
